HDMI to SDI solution description

The basic specifications of this program are as follows:

Input and output signal support:

Because the new generation of GV series codec chips produced by Semtech does not support resolutions below 720P, SDI to HDMI and HDMI to SDI solutions developed by Semtech based on GV7704 and GV7700 only support resolutions above 720P.

For the SDI to HDMI solution, we choose pass-through.

As for the HDMI to SDI solution, because there are too many resolution modes of the HDMI signal source, a simple pass-through will bring a bad experience to the user, so we have scaled some resolutions. For the specific input and output correspondence, please see below

table.

Connector function definition: (subject to the latest PCB document of Chipav)

P1：HDMI IN

P3：Power IN 5/12V

P2：SDI OUT

Instructions:

Before the PCB solution board is powered on, first plug the HDMI signal source into the P1 interface through the HDMI cable, and then connect to the P2 interface.

Finally, plug in the 5/12V power supply, and the board can light up and work normally.

This solution consists of four main chips, and the process is as follows:

Sil9293: Decode HDMI signal and output YUV422 digital signal.

CV2880: Scale the resolution below 720P to the resolution above 720P.

N76E003: The controller of the overall solution.

GV7700: Encode the digital signal into SDI signal output.
